On 24th and 25th September 2025, the W3+ Fair took place in Jena – an industry gathering that brings together players from science, research and industry. As part of the Campus Area, which presented scientific projects from the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, we had the opportunity to present our research project ‘Sensorised Surgery’.

The W3+ Fair gave us the opportunity to talk to trade visitors from various disciplines – from medical technology and optics to materials science and IT.
The Campus Area of the W3+ Fair served as a bridge between research and industry. It highlighted the importance of close cooperation between universities, research institutions and companies in order to put innovations into practice.
We are delighted with the consistently positive feedback on our project and the new contacts we were able to make.
A big thank you goes to the W3+ Fair team for organising the event, and to Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena and Friedrich Schiller University Jena for giving us the opportunity to present our work.

We are inspired and motivated as we look ahead to the next steps in our project and look forward to continuing to drive forward developments in sensor-based surgery.
